The new Mach 5.5 Carbon builds on the legacy of our renowned Mach 5.7 Carbon as the quintessential trail bike. With 140mm of dw-link™ rear travel, it sticks to and claws up just about anything, with unparalleled pedaling efficiency. On descents, the Mach 5.5 Carbon’s incredible square edge bump performance and 160mm travel Fox 36 fork enables you to conquer terrain that makes other bikes cower. It’s a bike that inspires you to climb while looking forward to the descents and that begs you to push your limits while putting a smile on your face.
There are several things that make the new Mach 5.5 Carbon truly exceptional. We’ve evolved our mid-travel link design, by utilizing the same rear shock pivot cartridge bearing design found in our longer travel clevis designs (such as the Firebird and Phoenix), to give the Mach 5.5 Carbon the unmatched small bump compliance and traction that Pivot is known for in a lighter weight and more compact design.
When engineering the ultimate trail bike chassis, weight matters. The Mach 5.5 Carbon matches Mach 6 Carbon durability while achieving Mach 429 SL Carbon weights and the perfect balance of frame stiffness and ride feel that Pivot frames are known for. The frame’s carbon structure features our proprietary hollow core internal molding process combined with a highly optimized lay-up design, utilizing lighter weight, high modulus materials that save up to a pound (.45kg) over other trail/enduro bike designs. The Mach 5.5 Carbon is available as a complete bike, with builds weighing under 27lbs (12.2kg) complete with dropper, and with frame weights as low as 5.2lbs(2.35kg).
The geometry of the Mach 5.5 Carbon is tuned to support its well-rounded trail bike personality – the optimized long and low geometry with a 66.5-degree head angle provides high-speed stability, contributing to its amazing descending capabilities. Combined with short 430mm chainstays and relatively steep 73.5-degree seat angle, it absolutely crushes the steepest of climbs. The Mach 5.5 Carbon’s overall balanced geometry makes it the ultimate trail bike weapon.
We’ve taken this ultimate trail bike idea one step further by combining it with Maxxis’ new Wide Trail 2.6” Minion DHF/Rekon tire combination mounted on 35mm wide rims for maximum control and maximum fun in a wide variety of conditions. This wider 2.6” tire option gives you incredible traction and rollover advantages with nearly the speed of a full on enduro race tire set up. The Mach 5.5 Carbon can run any 27.5 tire combination, from 2.1-2.6, so your options are nearly unlimited.
Featured on the Mach 5.5 Carbon is Pivot’s ultra-clean, removable front derailleur mount. For riders that want to run two chainrings, this precisely engineered mount offers the best shifting performance you can get, utilizing Shimano’s new side-swing front derailleur system. For those who love the simple functionality of 1x systems, the removable front derailleur mount offers an incredibly sleek, clean installation with almost no evidence of the un-needed hardware.
The Mach 5.5 Carbon offers full Di2 electronic integration and easy, clean internal routing of shifters, brakes and droppers via the Pivot Cable Port system.
Other essential details include ultra-quiet, low durometer, rubberized frame protection in all the key places, 180mm rear post mount disc brake, and Enduro Max cartridge bearings throughout.
The Mach 5.5 Carbon is available in five sizes to fit riders from 4’11” to 6’7”+ from XS to XL. Every size clears a full size water bottle inside the front triangle.
The Firebird is the no-compromise, Holy Grail of long travel mountain bikes – both an enduro bike that devours park runs and a technical climber that relishes huge lines and blazing descents. Building on its reputation as the bike for all-day missions on black diamond terrain, the Firebird features Phoenix DH-inspired long reach measurements combined with a 65-degree head angle to deliver unmatched stability and handling.
For enduro racers, the tough and light Firebird’s peerless climbing traction, descending capability and instant acceleration makes this the perfect choice for the steep courses of the Enduro World Series. For park riders, the Firebird’s long front-center and short chainstay combination provides that nimble, snappy feel that encourages bold line choices while staying fully in control at World Cup speeds.
Taking a page from the Phoenix DH Carbon’s progressive geometry, the Firebird features some of the longest reach measurements in the sport, combined with super-short, 16.95”chainstays. The resulting long front-center keeps the front wheel in contact with the trail on the ups and gives the Firebird a perfectly balanced, highly capable technical climbing ability over rough terrain.
When descending, the Firebird’s long and low geometry puts the rider “in” the bike for increased stability at high speeds and on steep technical challenges while the short chainstay measurements provide a maneuverable, dynamic ride that makes it easy to put the bike where you want it.
Dave Weagle, the brains behind dw-link® and Chris Cocalis, Pivot’s president and founder, collaborate on every Pivot suspension design. For the Firebird Carbon, they have created a bike that uses the best attributes of the dw-link® for the ultimate in downhill and climbing performance. With the dw-link’s anti squat and variable wheel travel path, we were able to optimize the Firebird’s rearward axle path in the first 1/3rd of the travel to provide incredible square edge bump absorption (similar to our Phoenix DH bike) with pedaling efficiency equal to the Mach 6. This ensures that the new Firebird carbon both descends and pedals better than anything else in the category.
The Firebird is spec’d with the class-leading Fox Float X2 factory shock*. This choice is based directly on feedback from our top racers – the Fox Float X2 air shock offers incredible control and a plusher feel allowing riders to go faster with greater confidence. The X2 shock features independent high and low speed compression and rebound adjustments, an EVOL air sleeve for coil shock-like sensitivity, Kashima coating and the X2’s new RVS (Rod Valve System) for incredible damping control and an ultra-plush ride. Between the high low speed compression and rebound adjustments, as well as air spring and air volume adjust; the Fox Float X2 is easily the most tunable shock for the entire ranges of rider weights and course conditions.
For riders whose passion is seeking new lines and uncharted adventure, the new climb switch on the Float X2 shock makes the Firebird an Enduro-style rider’s best choice for getting up and down the mountain.
To match the Firebird’s rear suspension, we’ve paired it with the newest 170mm Fox 36 Factory Boost fork – ideal for aggressive, balanced handling in advanced terrain.*
* XTR/XT Pro, and XO1 Eagle Pro bikes feature the Float X Performance rear shock, which features hard anodized body and independent low speed compression and rebound adjustments. XT Race builds feature the Float X2 Performance rear shock and Fox 36 Performance Boost fork.
Long days both up and down the mountain require a strong chassis that is light enough to make climbing fun. The heart of the new Firebird is a uniquely designed Pivot carbon frame with a Phoenix DH-inspired double wishbone rear triangle and ultra-stiff linkage design. With our own hollow core, internal, high compression carbon molding process and the right combination of composite materials and shapes, we are able to deliver a high end frame that meets the same stringent testing requirements for strength and stiffness as our downhill bike at a significantly lower weight, making it possible to build a complete bike below 28 pounds.
The Firebird features the latest version of the Pivot Cable Port system. This system offers easy, clean internal routing of shifters, brakes and droppers and features large ports for quick and easy routing and service. Housing clamps each entry and exit point keep all your lines 100% secure and quiet, because nobody likes a noisy bike. For those seeking every advantage, the Firebird offers full Di2 electronic shifting integration co-developed in partnership with Shimano.
The Firebird comes all prepped and ready for 1X gearing, but is easily set up for two chainrings via Pivot’s ultra-clean, removable front derailleur mount. This precisely engineered mount offers the best shifting performance you can get, utilizing Shimano’s new side-swing front derailleur system and is included with every frame.

Purpose-built to meet the demands of enduro and aggressive trail riding, Pivot’s Switchblade is a versatile ripper with a huge advantage no matter where you shred. As a long travel 29er, the Switchblade is a next-level enduro bike that begs for fast, steep and technical trails. As a 27.5+ machine, the Switchblade combines spider-man traction with the shortest chainstays in the category for the ultimate all-terrain, all-conditions ride.
From the very beginning of our engineering process, the Switchblade was designed to accommodate multiple wheelsizes, and it is this advanced planning that enables us to get so many great features into one unstoppable ride. At the heart of the Switchblade’s dual personality is a full carbon chassis featuring Pivot’s new long and low geometry combined with ultra short, huge clearance chainstays (up to 1cm shorter than the closest competitor). Putting these two holy grails of bike design into a single frame design means that riders will experience both unmatched high-speed stability through chunky terrain and effortless split-second manuals over seemingly impossible obstacles in one amazing machine.
Pivot’s frame shapes are 100% driven by our pursuit of the perfectly tuned ride, the cleanest design, the strongest product and the lightest possible weight. With our own hollow core, internal, high compression carbon molding process we can deliver on the performance requests of our top athletes by finding the perfect combination of composite materials and shapes for that perfect balance of strength, stiffness and the ultimate ride quality.
The Switchblade incorporates a Phoenix DH-inspired double wishbone rear triangle and ultra- stiff linkage design, the same design used in the Mach 6 Carbon, resulting in the absolute stiffest frameset available in the trail category – giving you precise control and the ability to tackle new terrain every time you ride.
Dave Weagle, the brains behind dw-link® and Chris Cocalis, Pivot’s president and founder, collaborate on every Pivot suspension design – for the Switchblade, they focused on utilizing the best attributes of the dw-link® for the ultimate in enduro/trail performance. dw-link’s anti-squat and variable wheel travel path means that the Switchblade pedals better than anything else in the category. Because the frame doesn’t squat or bob under pedaling force, we are able to lower the bottom bracket height and slacken the head angle to achieve the best performance in high speed and technical sections while also maintaining precise handling and poppy ride that makes a great trail bike so much fun.
The Switchblade is spec’d with the Fox Float DPS shock with the new EVOL air sleeve, tuned specifically for the Switchblade’s dual personality. The new Float DPS features improved bump absorption and firm lockout with a new DPS damper with three on-the- fly lever adjustments – Open, Medium and Firm options cover all of your terrain choices. The EVOL air sleeve significantly reduces the force required to initiate travel for the ultimate in small bump compliance and better bottom-out resistance. When combined with the ultra-low friction Kashima coating, this design offers an incredibly plush feel in every setting. While dw-link® is inherently efficient on its own, the firm option is great for long climbs. These shock features are direct complements to dw-link® suspension tuning and patented position-sensitive anti-squat, giving riders even better traction on steep climbs and over rough trail.
To match the Switchblade’s rear suspension, we’ve paired it with the newest 150mm Fox 36 – the perfect fork to match any trail rider’s need for aggressive, balanced handling on every part of the mountain.
Featured on the Switchblade is Pivot’s ultra-clean, removable front derailleur mount. For those that want to run two chainrings, this precisely engineered mount offers the best shifting performance you can get, utilizing Shimano’s new side-swing front derailleur system. For those who love the simple functionality of 1x systems, remove the front derailleur mount for an incredibly sleek, clean installation with almost no evidence of the un-needed hardware.
The Switchblade offers full Di2 electronic integration and easy, clean internal routing of shifters, brakes and droppers via the Pivot Cable Port system.
Other essential details include ultra-quiet, low durometer, rubberized frame protection in all the key places, post mount disc brake mounts for easy setup and weight savings, and Enduro Max cartridge bearings throughout. The Switchblade is available in five sizes to fit riders from 4’11” to 6’2”+ from XS to XL.
Our goal when designing the Mach 429 Trail was to create a new category of trail bike – one that takes advantage of the best features of 29 and yet maintains the performance characteristics that make you forget about wheelsize and, instead, translate to the “best-ride-ever,” every time you ride.
The result? A bike with the incredible pedaling efficiency and small bump compliance of the dw-link® design, a slack front end and a short back end that is fast, flickable, energy efficient, with unparalleled descending capabilities in the trail bike category.
To complement this new 29er formula, you’ll find Boost™ 148 spacing, our own hollow core, internal, high compression carbon molding and the obsessive detailing you expect from Pivot. Effortless trail bike handling, incredible power transfer and precise cornering are all yours, without compromise, in the perfectly balanced chassis of the Mach 429 Trail. It is the perfect choice for your next ride.
The 429 Trail marks the introduction of Pivot’s mid-travel trail linkage design, specifically for trail bikes. With major influences from the clevis design of the Phoenix DH Carbon and Mach 6 Carbon, the 429 Trail utilizes an entirely new upper linkage to provide the same ultra-precise control and bottomless feel of our longer travel dw-link® designs in a more compact, lighter package for trail applications.
When we pair the new upper linkage design with the same lower linkage design that we utilize on the Mach 6 Carbon, the result is a bike that you can take anywhere and over anything – an incredibly versatile 29er with seemingly endless suspension and noticeably increased traction. The Mach 429 Trail’s dw-link® suspension delivers unmatched handling characteristics combined with pedaling efficiency and climbing capability for riders who demand the best performance in both XC and technical terrain.
The 429 Trail is spec’d with the new Fox Float DPS (Dual Piston System) shock custom tuned specifically for 429 Trail. DPS stands for Dual Piston System – the shock features two separate sets of valving, similar to what you would find in Fox’s external reservoir Float X design but in a much lighter package. The Float DPS shock features new settings and a design that allows for an incredibly plush feel with a wide range of damping control while also offering an extremely positive “firm” position, for those long fire-road climbs. These features are direct complements to Pivot’s mid-travel suspension tuning and when combined with the dw-link’s® patented position-sensitive anti-squat, gives riders even better traction on steep climbs and over rough trail, making the Mach 429 Trail an up-trail-conquering, climbing machine with a nearly bottomless feel in even the most aggressive terrain.
To match the never ending feel of the Mach 429 Trail’s rear suspension, we’ve paired it with the 130mm Fox 34 for a perfectly balanced ride both on the ups and downs. This fork sets the new bar for trail specific suspension performance.
To complement these trail-proven angles, you’ll find new Boost™ 148 spacing in the rear and 110mm front hub spacing. The extra width between dropouts with the Boost™ system lends itself perfectly to Pivot’s drive to produce the stiffest frames with the best energy transfer available. The extra room between hub flanges gives that 29er wheel a ride feel that is as precise as any wheel size with the added advantage of big-wheel rollover capability. In addition to enhanced frame and wheel stiffness, the Boost™ system also enables us to add more tire clearance, allowing for a wider range of condition-specific tire choices, and 27.5”+ compatibility.
When creating the Mach 429 Trail, our engineers worked to find the perfect combination of purposeful, clean, composite design for strength, large cross sections for stiffness, and the right combination of composite materials to produce a high value frame worthy of the name Pivot. With our hollow-core, internal-molding process to bring this vision to reality, riders can now put the Mach 429 Trail at the top of the list when it comes to choosing a one-bike quiver.
Additionally, we’ve designed this full carbon frame with value in mind – building on our years of composite layup and construction experience – we’ve maintained the highest levels of stiffness and strength to weight, while making focused changes to keep the costs down and the technical advantages high, such as strategic, easy-to-service external routing combined with key features of the Pivot Cable Port System – including ports for use with an internal dropper post and clean cable/housing routing through the chainstays.
The Mach 429 Trail features an ultra-clean, removable front derailleur mount. For those that want to run two chainrings, this mount offers the best shifting performance you can get, utilizing Shimano’s new side-swing front derailleur system. For those who love the simple functionality of 1x systems, remove the front derailleur mount for an incredibly sleek, clean installation with almost no evidence of the un-needed hardware.
Our mountain bikes feature the PF92 bottom bracket. Collaboratively developed by our engineers and Shimano, this allows for wider pivots and better bearing support, both of which contribute to increased frame stiffness and strength as well as the best bearing longevity.
Other essential details include post mount disc brake mounts for easy set up and weight savings, internal stealth dropper compatibility and Enduro Max cartridge bearings throughout. There are mounts for 2 waterbottles on every frame and the Mach 429 Trail is available in 4 sizes – S, M, L, XL – and in two great colors.
